Mobile Responsive

Ever wondered what mobile responsive means and why it's so important? You've come to the right place!

So what does mobile responsive mean?

In a nutshell, it means that your website will automatically adapt it's layout, size and shape to ensure that it looks great on all of your devices.

If you're viewing it on a tablet for example, you might find there are only minor differences to the desktop version, such as a different menu style, or narrower columns.

When it comes to the mobile version, you will notice that most 2 or 3 column layouts have condensed down to a single column, and that the main navigation menu has been replaced with a mobile menu.

Why is mobile responsive so important?

One of the most important reasons to have a mobile responsive website, is that nowadays, over 50% of your website traffic comes from mobile devices.

If your website is not mobile responsive, then you have the following problems:

  • Google will show your website lower down in the search results, and will display a message next to the result saying it is not 'Mobile Friendly'.
  • Your website visitors who are using a mobile will have a poor experience on your website, find it hard to use, and many will leave straight away.
