FAQs

Answers about bespoke business systems, CRM, booking software, automation, practical AI, website projects and ongoing support.

What is a bespoke business system?

A bespoke business system is software designed around a particular organisation, process and group of users. It might manage customers, jobs, bookings, documents, approvals, reporting or several connected activities. Unlike a generic product, its scope and workflow are defined around the work it needs to support.

How do I know whether to build, buy or integrate?

It depends on how distinctive the process is, how well established products fit it, the importance of ownership and the long-term cost of change. We assess existing tools first. The best option may be configuring a product, connecting several systems, building a focused custom component or developing a complete platform.

Can you build a CRM or booking system?

Yes. Pedwar builds bespoke CRM and booking systems around customer records, availability, pricing, capacity, staff workflows, payments and reporting. Discovery is used to understand the real rules and exceptions before development begins.

Can you connect software we already use?

Yes. Where suitable APIs or dependable exchange methods exist, we can connect websites, CRM, booking, accounts, email, payments and other services. An integration should include validation, logging and a clear route for failures rather than silently assuming every transfer succeeds.

Where does AI fit?

AI can assist when a task involves language or other unstructured information, such as classifying messages, extracting document details or preparing a draft. Conventional code remains better for exact rules and calculations. We use AI selectively, with boundaries, checks and human approval where the consequence of an incorrect result matters.

Will automation replace the people in our process?

The aim is usually to remove repetitive administration and make handovers clearer, not to remove necessary expertise. We identify which steps are safe to automate and where a person should review an exception or make the final decision.

How much does bespoke software cost?

Cost depends on users, workflows, integrations, data, security requirements and the size of the first release. We define the problem and scope before providing a proposal. When appropriate, work can be divided into stages so the most important capability is delivered first.

How long does a project take?

There is no responsible standard answer. A focused integration can be much smaller than a new operational platform, and a website differs from a multi-user booking service. Your proposal will explain the expected stages, dependencies and timetable based on the agreed scope.

Can you improve an existing system?

Often, yes. We first assess the application, source code, hosting, data and dependencies to understand what can be supported safely. In some cases a focused repair or extension is sensible; in others, replacing a fragile component in stages offers a lower long-term risk.

Do you design websites in Swansea?

Yes. Pedwar provides web design in Swansea for local and UK organisations. Projects can cover content planning, original responsive design, development, SEO foundations, e-commerce and connections to wider business systems.

Do you use templates?

Our design and implementation choices are made around the project. We do not force every client into one visual template or technical product. We may use established, well-supported components where that is the sensible engineering decision, while keeping the overall service specific to the requirement.

Can you host and support the finished service?

Yes. Hosting and ongoing support can include managed infrastructure, backups, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and planned improvements. Responsibilities and response arrangements are agreed for the particular service.

Who will I work with?

Marc Bristowe remains personally involved from discovery through delivery. This keeps the understanding of your operation close to the design and development decisions, providing continuity without an account-management handover.

What should I send with an initial enquiry?

You do not need a technical specification. Describe the current process, who uses it, the tools involved, the recurring difficulty and the outcome you would value. Known constraints, deadlines or budget expectations are also useful. Send Pedwar an outline of your requirement.
